DISABILITY IS NOT INABILITY
Disability
means any physical or mental condition that restricts your movements, senses
and activities. Disability means any physical or mental disadvantage or
handicap. A person may have a handicap from birth or it might be the result of
any fatal accident or mishap that a person encounters during his or her
lifetime. Disability breaks down the spirit of many. But, disabled people can
also attain success if they have belief in their potentials and persevere
towards their goal. Helen Keller was blind, but she never led this disability
come in her way.
In the words of Martina Navratilova, “Disability is a matter of perception. If you can just do one thing well, you are needed by someone.” Disabled people should never be looked down upon by others. They have the ability to realize their dreams and ambitions, like any other human being. As Martina Navratilova said, disability is how you consider it. Being a purely relative term, disability is no hurdle in the path of any determined individual who wants to achieve success.
